Privacy Policy
MyVocal (the "App") helps you practise the basics of singing — warm-ups, breathing, vocal scales and ear training. It works without an account. The App itself keeps your data on your device, and microphone sound is analysed on your device only — it is never recorded or sent (section 2). Only the purchase service, the ad service (free version only) and our usage-statistics and crash-report service receive some data (section 3).
1. Data that stays on your device
- Settings: language, night mode, the voice type you chose or the vocal range you measured, how notes are named (C D E or Do Re Mi), scale options (piano melody on or off, going back down) and piano volume
- Practice records shown in the App: practice time per day for the last 90 days, which areas you finished today, and your best records (longest "Sss", Pitch Match score, Interval Quiz score, scale accuracy)
- Whether Premium has been purchased
This data is stored only on your device and is not sent to the operator or anyone else. Deleting the App deletes it (your device's own backup, such as iCloud, may include it).
2. Microphone
Exercises that show your pitch or time your breath (for example Live Pitch and the long "Sss") use the microphone. The App asks for permission when you first open such an exercise.
- The sound is analysed in real time on your device, only to estimate pitch and loudness.
- It is never recorded, stored or sent — not to us and not to anyone else.
- You can turn the microphone off in the exercise, or turn off access in your device settings. The App still works without it; it just cannot show your pitch line or measure your voice.
3. Data sent to third parties — purchases, ads and usage statistics
Purchases — Apple, Google and RevenueCat
Warm-ups, breathing, ear training and the basic vocal exercises are free. "MyVocal Premium (lifetime)" unlocks the rest of the exercises and settings and removes ads. It is a one-time purchase handled by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. Your payment details go to the store, not to us. To confirm and restore the purchase, the App uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA):
| Recipient | Country | Data | Purpose | When / how | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat, Inc. | USA | An anonymous ID created for the purchase, the App Store or Google Play receipt (product, date, store country and currency), device model, OS and app version, IP address | To confirm and restore your Premium purchase | When the App starts (to check whether Premium is unlocked), and when you open the Premium screen, buy or restore — sent over an encrypted connection | While needed for purchase records, or until you ask us to delete it |
This is a transfer of personal information to another country, used only to confirm and restore the Premium purchase. You can ask us to delete it (section 6). RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
Ads — Google AdMob
In the free version, the App shows ads (a banner and, sometimes, a full-screen ad when you open an exercise). Ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC, USA), which receives:
- Device and app information (model, OS and app version, language), IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred)
- How you interact with ads (impressions, taps) and diagnostic data from the ad SDK
- The device advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, advertising ID on Android) — on iPhone only if you allow tracking
Google uses this to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Ads are personalised only if you allow it (iPhone: the tracking prompt and Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; in the EEA and UK: the consent screen, which you can change any time with "Ad privacy settings" at the bottom of the Premium screen). Otherwise ads are not personalised. With Premium, the App no longer loads ads, so this data is no longer sent to Google. See how Google uses information from apps.
Usage statistics and crash reports — Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics
To see which exercises are used and to fix problems, the App sends the following to Google Firebase (Google LLC, USA):
- Usage events: which screens and exercises you open and for how long, and whether the Premium screen was viewed and the purchase made or restored (no payment details)
- Crash reports: the error, the app's state when it happened, device model, OS and app version
- A random app-instance identifier created by Firebase (not the advertising identifier), language, and an approximate country from the IP address
Microphone sound is never part of this. This data is not linked to your name or contact details and is not used for ads. Google keeps analytics data for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days. This is a transfer of personal information to another country; if you do not want it, you can stop using the App and ask us to delete it (support@mystudioapps.com). Firebase privacy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
4. What the App does not do
- No account or sign-in, and no server of our own
- No recording — microphone sound is never recorded, stored or sent
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites unless you allow it (iPhone tracking prompt)
- No access to your camera, photos, contacts or location
- We do not sell personal information
5. Children
The App is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Ads are not personalised unless tracking or consent is allowed. Purchases go through the store account, where parents can require approval (for example Ask to Buy).
6. Your rights and contact
You can ask us to access, correct or delete data related to your purchase, or to stop processing it. Your settings and practice records stay on your device and never reach us; deleting the App removes them. Contact support@mystudioapps.com. We answer within 10 days.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If what the App sends changes, we will update this policy first.
